The Canberra Symphony Orchestra Prom

Join the party! The Canberra Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 60th anniversary in style in throughout 2010 kicking the season off with a PROM concert on the lawns of Government House at 7.30pm, February 20. Gates open from 3.45pm so there’s plenty of time to settle in with your picnic and enjoy the beautiful surrounds before the concert.

The CSO has teamed with the Embassy of the United States of America, which is celebrating 70 years of formal diplomatic relations with Australia, to present a toe-tapping, American musical tribute featuring some of the best-loved music of the 20th century from Broadway, film and the brave new world. Copland’s Fanfare for the Comman Man, Gershwin’s Girl Crazy Overture, Bernstein’s Candide Overture and West Side Story vocal selections are just a few fabulous tunes featuring in this wonderful event, which has become a much-loved Canberra tradition.

Tickets available through CSO Direct: 02 6262 6772, www.cso.org.au
